PJ Gala 2020

The Speakeasy: Welcome to the Roaring 20s

May 9, 2020
7pm – late
Capilano Golf & Country Club

This PJ Speakeasy will take you back in time to enjoy the glamour and glitz of the Roaring 1920s. We are taking over the Capilano Golf & Country Club, to recreate a good old-fashioned Speakeasy and it is going to be the bee’s knees!* (**scroll to the bottom for slang definitions**)

WHAT TO EXCEPT

A fun-filled evening of drinks, food, dancing and fundraising with our fabulous PJ community. You’ll be free to mix and mingle, with no assigned seating, to feast on the fabulous food stations, order your favourite cocktail from the bar, bid on auction items, and try your luck at gambling (watch out for mobsters at the card table!)… then get to the dance floor! There will be plenty of seating options, no tired dogs* here, and your ticket includes dinner.

GET YOUR TICKET/HOW TO WHOOPEE*

Online at Eventbrite
Please note: if you are not able to attend the event but would like to support, there is an option to select “Donation” instead of buying a ticket.

In person, every Friday after school, we will be selling tickets undercover near the playground. You can pay in cash, with cheque or credit card. See you between 2:45pm-3:15pm on Friday January 10th, 17th, 31st and Friday February 7th.

Drop off a cheque, attached to an order form, into the box at the school office. Get your order form here.

WHAT TO WEAR

The Roaring 20’s is an iconic fashion era.  Flappers, gangsters, and The Great Gatsby. We are keen to have you there, no matter what you wear! Or, to get spiffy* you can add some easy 20’s glamour to a party outfit already in your wardrobe with a headband or a hat. For inspiration, look at our PJ Gala board on Pinterest. Most importantly, come and whoopee*!

HOW TO SUPPORT PJ AND THE GALA

Planning is well underway, and we really need your help to make it a success! Here are a few ways you can support:

·BUY A TICKET FOR YOU, YOUR FAMILY & FRIENDS! Early-bird pricing of $110/ticket will be in effect until February 9th, so make sure to get your tickets early! Tickets include dinner, drink ticket, and “fun money” to use at the casino tables.

·Volunteer – an event this size takes a village, and we need your help!

·Be a Gala Sponsor – we need sponsorship for the venue costs, welcome drink, casino tables, music and décor. Every bit helps, and all sponsors will be recognized through event signage and in the program.

·Donate an Auction Item – if you can donate products, experiences or services to be auctioned off (or know someone who can) please let us know.

·Donate – if you want to support but can’t attend or donate your time, consider making a cash donation.

If you can help with any of the above, you can reach out to Raquel Love. Thank you in advance for your support. We are sure it’s going to be the bee’s knees, the cat’s meow, and totally swell!
